- City seek a vital reaction at Ashton Gate after recent derby disappointment.
- Canaries aim to bounce back against an improving tenth-placed Bristol City.
- Clement expects a positive response as Norwich travel for mid-table clash.
Norwich City look to get back to winning ways in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Ashton Gate to face Bristol City.
The Canaries go into the game off the back of last weekend’s 2-0 loss at Carrow Road in the East Anglian Derby, just their eighth loss in Philippe Clement’s 27 league games in charge, and there is no doubt he will expect a reaction from his players in the west country.
The loss to Ipswich Town was City’s first defeat in four matches, but because of results elsewhere, they remain ninth in the table, and right up near the top of the form table over their last 26 games with 49 points from a possible 81.
The Robins currently occupy 10th place in the Championship, five points behind Norwich and only four points off 17th-placed Sheffield United. They have only won three of their last 10 games, but two of those have come in their last five games, and they are now temporarily managed by Roy Hodgson. That run included a 1-1 draw with fifth-placed Middlesbrough.
Their 0-0 draw against QPR last weekend was their 10th of the season, but they have been victorious in 16 games this season, which is also the number of losses they have in the Championship in 2025-26, of which nine have come at Ashton Gate.

Freddie’s betting prediction
As the odds show, the bookies are finding it quite a close one to call, but maybe part of this is in relation to the fact that both of these sides are right next to each other in the league table, despite the contrast of the recent form of both teams.
For me, given that Clement will expect a big reaction to the loss to Ipswich last time out, the value is in the 13/8 for a Norwich City win.
It’s worth noting, though, that the Canaries have only drawn a game once since December 20, which makes the 5/2 for them to draw look quite appealing.
