- City seek Good Friday revenge against Pompey following last season’s defeat.
- Clement’s side eyes a crucial victory to bridge the playoff gap today.
- Portsmouth battles for Championship survival as they visit a resurgent City.
Norwich City will be out for revenge against Portsmouth on Good Friday (April 3rd) after they lost 5-3 at home to them around this time last season.
The Canaries welcome John Mousinho’s side to Carrow Road in tenth place in the Championship table, sat nine points adrift of the top six.
Philippe Clement’s team claimed a 1-0 win over Charlton Athletic at The Valley in their last game before the March international break, as Pelle Mattsson scored the only goal of the game.
It has been almost two weeks since that win in London, though, and it is difficult to predict how momentum carries through over an international break, with so many players heading across the world to represent their respective countries.
Norwich are 15 points clear of the bottom three in the league, with seven matches left to play, which no one would have predicted when Clement came in to take over a team that was 23rd in November.
Portsmouth, meanwhile, are one point above Leicester City in the final relegation spot and need a positive result to bounce back from their 6-1 loss to Queens Park Rangers last time out.

Daniel’s betting prediction
The bookies have Norwich City as the clear favourite to win this Good Friday clash, and the form of the respective teams makes that understandable.
Clement’s men have won four of their last five home games. Meanwhile, Portsmouth have lost two of their last three games on the road, including a 6-1 defeat to QPR.
A home win seems more probable than not, which is reflected in the betting odds, and the Canary supporters will hope for no upset.
What may work in Pompey’s favour, though, is that Ali Ahmed and Anis Ben Slimane were both in action in the early hours on Wednesday, and may not be as fresh as some of Portsmouth’s players.
That being said, I am going for a 3-1 home win.
