New Reading manager Jaap Stam has denied reports that the club have agreed a £2m fee for midfielder Aaron Tshibola from Norwich City, states the EDP.
With Aston Villa and Crystal Palace also linked to the Royals central midfielder in recent days, Stam has dismissed rumours that Norwich are in pole position to land the highly rated youngster.
Stam told GetReading:
All I can say is his future is here. I don’t want him to leave – that’s what I told the club as well. He’s a quality player so I need him to stay at Reading. Aaron is young and has so much quality – those players you want to keep. You don’t want to sell them.
Maybe for some clubs it’s tempting if a certain offer comes in, but I’ve spoken to the club and said from the start I don’t want to sell him.

He needs to stay.
There are a lot of agents involved and everybody is looking at their own interests. A lot of rumours come from there but all I can say is he’s not going to be going away, he’s going to be staying at the club.
It looks like Alex Neil will need to keep searching before he makes his first signing of the summer, already slipping behind promotion rivals Newcastle and Aston Villa.
