- Philippe Clement aims to protect his record against a resilient Charlton side.
- Injury-depleted Norwich City face a critical play-off survival test at The Valley.
- City face a resurgent Charlton team that’s almost assured Championship safety.
Philippe Clement will be aiming to maintain his impressive record of not losing two Norwich matches in a row when his side take on Charlton Athletic on Saturday (March 21).
The Canaries head to The Valley knowing that only a win will maintain their outside chances of securing a play-off spot, with both Wrexham and Southampton now nine points ahead.
Clement’s side put up a spirited second-half performance at St Mary’s on Wednesday evening, but Finn Azaz’s 24th-minute strike was enough to secure the home side three points.
Norwich remain 12 points clear of the bottom three with eight games of the season left to play.
A win for Charlton would put them level on points with City and all-but confirm their spot in next season’s Championship.
With two wins, two draws, and a loss in their last five games, the Addicks have managed to pull clear of the relegation zone and look set to survive their first season back in the tier after promotion from League One.
Injuries remain problematic for Clement ahead of Saturday’s match, with more than a dozen first-team players still sidelined.
Defender Jack Stacey was substituted during the Southampton game after picking up an injury, leaving midfielder Liam Gibbs as the stand-in right-back.

Daniel’s betting prediction
Despite just three points separating the sides and the fact Charlton are at home, the bookies have Norwich as clear favourites to win this one.
Norwich have maintained strong away form under Clement, including a 2-1 win at Wrexham and 5-0 demolition of West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.
That Southampton game will have taken a lot out of an already depleted City squad, so I can see Saturday’s match being a close one.
I’m going with 1-1.
