Norwich City centre-half Sebastien Bassong has revealed who he thinks will be Watford’s main threat when the Canaries face the Hornets at Vicarage Road at the weekend.
The Cameroon international spent part of last season on loan at the Hertfordshire club, helping the Hornets achieve automatic promotion to the Premier League, before coming back and achieving the same feat with Norwich.
When asked about the game, Bassong said:
It’ll be a good game, no? They are players I know. There has been some big changes. I think they brought in fifteen players and ten different nationalities in the summer, and they’ve gelled. So they’ve done that really quickly.
But there are a lot of players at Watford I still know and yes, they’ve got a good team. I enjoyed playing with them and they are successful at the moment, so I’m glad for them.
The 29-year-old was also asked what it would be like to come up against two of Watford’s hottest prospects this season, Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo. The views that Bassong gave were:
Odion and Troy, I know them well. they are scoring goals and have a great understanding, so I’ve got a few tips to stop them.
Bassong was also asked about the importance of Saturdays game, seeing that Norwich have faced Chelsea and Arsenal in their last two games.
The point sets us up well for Saturday, confidence -wise.
I know I won’t go into the home dressing room there because I’ve already been back last year with Norwich and we beat them- so hopefully it will be the same this season. We’ll see.

Bassong played for Watford during a brief period last season.
The Canaries will hope they can take momentum into the game at Vicarage Road, with Norwich arguably unlucky not to win their previous game against Arsenal at Carrow Road. The two games last season between the sides were action-packed, with Norwich prevailing 3-0 on both occasions.
Whether Norwich and Sebastien Bassong can get the better of Watford in the Premier League is yet to be seen. The yellow army will be watching eagerly with anticipation.
