- City look to make it back-to-back wins after impressive 2nd-half at Ashton Gate
- Derby looking to close the three point gap between them and the playoffs
- Both sides rank in top three for most defeats in top half of the Championship
City look to secure back-to-back wins in the Sky Bet Championship on Tuesday night as they host playoff contenders Derby County at Carrow Road.
The Canaries go into the game off the back of last weekend’s 4-2 win at Ashton Gate, their third win in their last five games, and Philippe Clement’s 16th win in his 28 league games in charge. There is no doubt he will want a performance reminiscent of the second half in the West Country.
The win against the Robins at the weekend meant that Norwich remain ninth in the table, and right up near the top of the form table over their last 27 games with 52 points from a possible 84.
The Rams currently occupy eighth place in the Championship, five points ahead of the Canaries and only three points off the playoff places with three games to go. They have won six of their last 10 games, with three of them coming in their last five games, and they look a real threat under current head coach John Eustace.
Their 1-0 win at home to Oxford United last weekend was their 19th of the season, but they have been on the receiving end of a defeat in 15 games this season, which is the third highest for a side in the top half of the Championship table, only beaten by Bristol City, QPR (17), and Norwich (18).

Freddie’s betting prediction
As the odds show, the bookies are favouring a home win for Norwich City, but maybe part of this is in relation to the fact that both of these sides are right next to each other in the league table, and have been one of the best form sides in the Championship since the turn of the year.
But Derby County will be desperate for all three points in their playoff push, especially after recent losses to both Coventry City and Southampton. With all that in mind, I think the value is in the 13/5 for a draw between the two sides at Carrow Road.
It’s worth noting, though, that the Canaries have only drawn a game once since December 20 – so, don’t shoot the messenger.
