- Norwich looking to spoil the home party at the MKM Stadium
- Clement looking for 18th victory as the Canaries travel to Hull City
- The Tigers could confirm a playoff spot with a first win in seven games
Norwich City look to end the 2025/26 season with a win at the MKM Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they travel to seventh-placed Hull City in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
The Canaries go into the game off the back of last Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home to Swansea, just their second draw since December 20th, and Philippe Clement’s fifth in his 30 league games in charge. Although his side have nothing to play for in terms of a playoff place, the Belgian manager will almost certainly not see the game as a dead rubber, and will want his players to sign off the season in style.
The win against the Swans on last time out mathematically ended Norwich’s sliver of hope of reaching the top six in the Championship. They can now only finish as high as ninth place, which is where they currently sit in the table, but given the fact they were 23rd after 23 matches, to even be in the top 10 is truly remarkable.
The Tigers currently occupy seventh place in the Championship, five points ahead of the Canaries and only outside the playoff places by a goal difference of one. They have not won any of their last six games, and only have two victories in their last 10 league games, the last one coming against bottom of the league Sheffield Wednesday on March 21st.
They are currently managed by Sergej Jakirovic, and since his appointment from Turkish side Kayserispor in June of last year, Hull City have won 21, drawn 10, and lost 17 of his 48 games in charge.
The Tigers also have two of the Championship’s top five best goalscorers at their disposal – Oli McBurnie and Joe Gelhardt – who have scored 15 and 14 goals respectively. McBurnie has also registered seven assists in 36 games this season, while Gelhardt has notched up four assists in 38 games on loan from Leeds United. He also scored in the reverse fixture of this game back in November of last year.

Freddie’s betting prediction
As the odds show, the bookies are favouring a home win for Hull City, but maybe part of this is down to the fact that the Tigers will be desperate to confirm a place in the playoffs, and the home crowd will be in full support, trying to make the MKM Stadium a cauldron of noise for the whole 90 minutes.
But Norwich City will want to be the party poopers in the East Riding of Yorkshire, especially given that they boast the fourth-best away form in the Championship, with 10 wins from 22. Pair that with how, in the last five head-to-heads, the Canaries have avoided defeat on four of five occasions. With that in mind, I think the value is in the 7/2 for another away win for Norwich City.
