Norwich City travel away from Norfolk to take on Hull City in the final match of the Championship season this weekend.

The Canaries cannot reach the play-off positions or get relegated from the league, but there is still plenty to play for.

Philippe Clement wants to keep the positive momentum going through the summer and there will be players who are still fighting for their futures at Carrow Road.

On top of that, the players should also want revenge for the 2-0 defeat to the Tigers in the reverse fixture in November.

How Norwich lined up against Hull in November

The 2-0 loss to Hull in November was part of a run of eight losses in nine games and was the penultimate home game of Liam Manning’s tenure in the dugout.

This was the game in which a handful of supporters decided to throw tennis balls onto the pitch in the 19th minute in protest at how poorly the season was going at the time.

The chucking of those tennis balls may have been the most entertaining moment of the match, as Manning lined his side up with five defenders across the back.

Vladan Kovacevic started in goal with Kellen Fisher, Ruairi McConville, Harry Darling, Shane Duffy, and Jeffrey Schlupp ahead of him.

The picture in the post above is from this defeat to Hull and perfectly sums up where the club was at in this moment.

Ahead of the back five, Pelle Mattsson and Kenny McLean lined up as the two central midfielders.

Norwich then had a front three of Jovon Makama on the right wing, Josh Sargent through the middle, and Oscar Schwartau on the left.

Latest Norwich injury news

Two of the players from that XI in November will be unavailable to play this weekend through injury, as Schwartau and Makama look set to miss out.

Sargent, obviously, will not be involved after he decided to pursue a move to Toronto, where he has scored two goals and missed five ‘big chances’ in seven MLS matches.

Papa Diallo, Harry Amass, Matej Jurasek, Ante Crnac, Ben Chrisene, and Gabe Forsyth are also set to be unavailable for the final game of the season.

Lucien Mahovo recently returned to training, though, and it remains to be seen whether or not he will make the squad on Saturday.

Predicted Norwich line-up to face Hull

After the 1-1 draw with Swansea City last weekend, Clement may look to make some changes to his starting line-up.

Kovacevic should remain in goal, as the number one, but McConville could be given a chance to start after sitting on the bench in recent weeks since returning from injury.

After another disappointing display against the Swans, Jack Stacey should also be dropped to the bench to allow Fisher to play in his favoured role, with Liam Gibbs dropping to left-back.

Gibbs moving back to left-back, after he failed to make a positive impression on the wing against Swansea, would allow Ali Ahmed to come back into the side as a starter.

Paris Maghoma looked ineffective on the right against Swansea, after running the show against Derby in the number ten role, so Clement could play him centrally in this match.

That would open the door for Amankwah Forson to start on the right, replacing Anis Ben Slimane in the line-up, after he provided an assist and won a penalty against Derby as a starter.
