- Southampton host Norwich in a massive clash between two in-form sides.
- Under Philippe Clement, the flying Canaries have gone from 23rd to 12th.
- A crucial victory could propel the Saints into the league’s playoff places.
Two of the Championship’s most in-form sides will meet at St Mary’s on Wednesday evening as play-off hopefuls Southampton take on Norwich City.
The two sides – who have both recorded 24-point hauls in the last 10 games – won again over the weekend to continue their impressive runs.
A win against Norwich could see Southampton enter the top six if Wrexham lose against Watford on Tuesday, while three points for the Canaries would keep their faint play-off hopes very much alive.
City’s comfortable 2-0 victory against Preston North End last Saturday saw them surpass the 50-point mark, easing any lingering relegation fears.
Despite contending more than a dozen first-team injuries, Philippe Clement has guided the Canaries to 10 league wins in 2026 – the first team in the division to reach that milestone.
Norwich have now won their last four league games, taking their impressive points haul under Clement to 42 from 22 games.
Southampton, meanwhile, remain well in the play-off hunt after replicating the Canaries red-hot form under Tonda Eckert.
The Saints claimed all three points away at league leaders Coventry City on Saturday thanks to goals from Flynn Downes and Kuryu Matsuki.

Daniel’s betting prediction
With both sides in such good form, this really is a tough one to call.
The lingering concern for Norwich fans is that the shear number of injuries will soon take their toll, and I have a feeling that Wednesday night’s trip to the South Coast might be a step too far for Clement’s depleted side.
There is no doubt that Clement and his players will be going into the game believing they can win, but I can see the Saints just about edging this one.
I’d say that the bookies’ 51% prediction of a home win feels about right to me.
I’m going 1-0 Southampton.
