Philippe Clement will be aiming for an instant response to Norwich City’s disappointing FA Cup fifth-round exit to Leeds United over the weekend when Sheffield United arrive at Carrow Road on Wednesday evening (March 11).
A lacklustre first-half cost the Canaries at Elland Road, in what proved to be a step too far with 14 first-team players out injured.
Clement’s threadbare side put up a spirited fight in the second half, but Joel Piroe’s 85th-minute strike capped off a comfortable afternoon for Leeds.
Attention now turns to the league, where City are just five points off the magical 50-point mark usually required to secure survival.
No team in the Championship has collected more points in 2026 than Norwich, with eight league wins since the turn of the year.
The Canaries sit just four points behind Wednesday’s visitors, who will be aiming for a win to keep their faint play-off hopes alive. Good news for the City is the return from injury of Pelle Mattsson.
The 11th-placed Blades come into the game in mixed form, having won three, lost one and drawn one of the last five games.
Last time out, Chris Wilder’s men recorded a disappointing 1-1 home draw to strugglers West Bromwich Albion.

Daniel’s betting prediction
It’s slightly surprising to see the away side as marginal favourites for this one given Norwich’s red-hot recent form.
There really isn’t much in it, though, with mid-table clashes always difficult to call.
With both sides unlikely to get promoted or relegated, I can see this being an open game with a few goals.
Norwich recorded some impressive wins at Carrow Road under Clement, but I can see the Blades causing them some problems on Wednesday evening.
I’m going 2-2, although wouldn’t be shocked to see Wilder’s men just edge this one.
