Norwich City extended their lead at the top of the Championship on Friday, with a draw against Sheffield United sending them five points clear of Leeds.
The Canaries took an early lead through Marco Stiepermann, but goals either side of half-time for the visitors put them 2-1 in front.
Substitute Mario Vrancic then secured a draw for Norwich in sensational fashion as he whipped a free-kick into the top corner in the 97th minute.
Here are four things we learned from the game…
Vrancic deserves a start
Despite only starting 12 Championship games this season, Vrancic has managed eight goals and five assists from central midfield. The Bosnian is Norwich’s joint-second top goalscorer in the league and deserves to start against Stoke.
Farke fuming
Farke was as angry as he has ever been as Norwich manager at full-time. In his post-match interview he appeared to snap, going on a rant about how many poor decisions have gone against Norwich in recent weeks. We learnt that there is a new side to Farke, and it might just put the fire in the belly for Norwich to finish the job.
Godfrey has much to learn
Steven Fletcher bullied Ben Godfrey all night and gave the youngster all sorts of problems. I expect Godfrey to keep his place, but it does make you wonder whether the experienced head of Timm Klose could be called upon.
Norwich need to change their midfield
Tom Trybull has been brilliant in 2019 for Norwich, but his partnership with Kenny McLean leaves Farke’s side too exposed. McLean pushes too high up and it often leaves Trybull on his own versus two or three attackers, whilst also giving Norwich less options to play out from the back. Vrancic needs to come in for McLean.
