Norwich City head coach Daniel Farke wants to entice loanee Angus Gunn back to the club next season, per the Eastern Daily Press.
Gunn is set to return to parent club Manchester City after this weekend’s final game against Sheffield Wednesday, but Farke is hoping he will return to Carrow Road next season:
When you have such a good goalkeeper then of course we would try 100 percent to keep this player but to be honest it is not in our hands. It is what Angus wants and maybe even more importantly what Manchester City want.
The 22-year-old is likely to be loaned out again next season as the Citizens see potential in the youngster, but don’t think he is ready to challenge for the number one spot yet.
Gunn has had an impressive season with the Canaries, keeping 15 clean sheets in what has been an underwhelming season, as they currently sit 12th and cannot finish higher.
Farke was surprised at how well the England under 21 player took to first team football, especially with no previous first-team experience:
Angus played with unbelievable consistency. He saved us many, many points and he was outstanding
If Gunn is to return to Norfolk it would be a real sign of intent that they are going to push for promotion next season, they are likely to face stiff competition for him though.
