Norwich considering €1m bid for Mata

Norwich boss Daniel Farke has identified Real Valladolid striker Jaime Mata as one of his main targets during the transfer window, however, he faces competition from three other teams in England, according to the Spanish media.

The report claims that Norwich are considering a €1m offer for the Spanish striker.

Mata, 29, is attracting plenty of interest from sides in La Liga after already finding the back of the net 18 times in 21 appearances in the Spanish second division.

Norwich have sent scouts out on numerous occasions to watch the player in action, with Fulham, Sheffield Wednesday and Premier League side Bournemouth all closely monitoring the Spaniard’s situation.

Mata’s 18 goals have made him the top scorer in the division, six ahead of his closest rival, and his goals have made Valladolid the top scoring side in the league.

The Canaries are in desperate need of some firepower up front, with only Burton, Bolton and Birmingham the only sides to have scored less than Farke’s side this season.
