Ahead of Norwich Under-21’s EFL Trophy clash against MK Dons on Tuesday evening, Ray Grant has told the club’s official website that he is expecting a tough test from their counterparts.
Our main focus is trying to do as well as possible and getting the experience playing against EFL teams is going to be vital.
It’s win at all costs. They’re seasoned professionals, there are players that have been in the game for ten, 15 years and they have the knowhow.
Norwich have been finding the EFL Trophy quite easy so far, as expected from a team in a higher division, with The Canaries having already qualified for the round of 32.
The Championship side have won their opening two fixtures against Peterborough and Barnet, seeing them go through to the next round automatically. However, if they are to secure the top spot of the Southern Group F, they will need to avoid defeat to MK Dons on Tuesday night.
You’ve got to try and combat that and you’ve got to try and take that into your game, you want to be known as a winner and somebody who’s going to try and win at all costs as well, while trying to develop and become a better player.
Grant featured for The Canaries’ Under-23 side in the Premier League Cup just a few days ago, as he helped his side to yet another impressive victory; this time coming against Everton as Norwich won 4-1 at Goodison Park.
It’s going to be a tough game, obviously they’re changing the manager there, but I don’t think much will change from them, they’ve always been known as quite a good footballing side.
The youngster will be hoping to make an impact in the game against MK Dons.
We’re very lucky to get the support we have from the fans, hopefully they turn out and hopefully we’ll put on a good show for them.
Grant is the first player for Norwich to have ever made a senior appearance for the club as the son of a former manager.
