Norwich let slip two goals in the final minute of stoppage time to succumb to a mortifying 4-3 defeat to Newcastle at St James’ Park.
Having pummeled Norwich for the first twenty minutes of the match, the Magpies deservedly took the lead through former Barnet striker Dwight Gayle, after getting on the end of Matt Ritchie’s cross in the 24th minute.
However, Robbie Brady grabbed a penalty against the run of play in the dying embers of the first half, and Graham Dorrans coolly dispatched from the spot.
Cameron Jerome and Jacob Murphy netted to make the scoreline 1-3, with Norwich seemingly on the way to reclaiming top spot.
Then, after Gayle narrowed the deficit straight after Murphy’s deflected goal, Norwich managed to concede two gut-wrenching goals in the 90+5th and 90+6th minutes to let the points slip away.
