Norwich overcame Newcastle in dramatic fashion as a collector’s item goal from Martin Olsson in stoppage time gave the Canaries three vital points against their relegation rivals.
Norwich had taken the lead at the end of the first half through defender Timm Klose, but the Magpies hit back through Aleksandar Mitrovic in the 71st minute. However, the contest was far from over and minutes later, Norwich striker Dieumerci Mbokani hit a powerful shot that flew past Newcastle stand-in goalkeeper Karl Darlow.
But the Canaries let their lead slip again when Mitrovic scored again, this time from the penalty spot. But, Norwich were not to be denied and won the game in the 93rd minute to send the Carrow Road faithful into wild celebrations thanks to Olsson’s late winner.
