Norwich centre-back Timm Klose has commended his Canary teammates after a fine 0-0 draw with title chasing Manchester City.
Klose, who was signed for a record fee from Wolfsburg in January, put in a man of the match performance as the Canaries battled against a City team full of international stars to earn a hard-fought point.
The defender kept danger men Sergio Aguero and David Silva quiet throughout the entire match and hardly put a foot wrong.
The Swiss man said:
We worked hard and did a great job. Today was an intense match but we played as a team, and I have to thank them for that. It’s hard to defend against Sergio Aguero because of his movement and pace but we kept him away as much as possible.
We know we need to strong in the next few games now; to focus and work hard as a team. That’s what we must do to get away from the bottom three. The last few games I’ve felt myself getting more comfortable on the pitch. I really enjoy the pace and physical aspect of playing in England, which is a bit different from Germany. I’m getting more confident, and I’m so hungry to stay in this league.
The Canaries remain eleven matches in all competitions without a win and will hope to end that run against West Brom at the Hawthorns next week.
But the 27-year-old insists that his team will focus on one game at a time.
We won’t look too far ahead so will take things step by step. It’s important we focus on our game next weekend for now.
Norwich are still in the relegation zone on goal difference but with their next five games against teams all in the bottom half of the league, including crunch games with relegation rivals Newcastle and Sunderland at home, Norwich will take heart from this valuable draw.
