Norwich boss, Alex Neil, knows that his side must start picking up points and has said there is no reason why the Canaries can’t give a good account of themselves against Chelsea tomorrow night.
City go into the game against the Blues on the back of a late defeat to table-toppers Leicester City after Leonardo Ulloa’s 89th minute goal was enough to secure a 1-0 win for the league’s surprise package this season.
But Neil remains confident that his side can get something out of the game and told Norwich City TV:
In recent weeks we’ve had games where we’ve been in control of them, but for one reason or another we’ve let a lead slip or found ourselves on the wrong end of a result.
Obviously I hope that’s going to change on Tuesday. If we can get something out of the game then it would be a huge bit of encouragement going into Saturday’s match.
When we played Arsenal and Everton at home recently, we gave a really good account of ourselves and there’s no reason why this can’t be the same.
Norwich haven’t won a game in eight games in all competitions and are firmly in a fight against relegation, with the Canaries in 17th place and narrowly avoiding the dreaded drop zone on goal difference, but having played a game more than Newcastle.
If Norwich are to break their winless run, they must beat a Chelsea side who are unbeaten under new boss Guus Hiddink and are recovering well following a poor first half of the season.
