Alex Tettey has urged his team to put the Tottenham Hotspur defeat behind them and concentrate on winning what he has described as Norwich’s cup final.
The Norwegian international midfielder, who will miss the clash at Villa Park due to accumulating ten yellow cards, has said there is no time for him and his teammates to feel sorry for themselves and they must put things right on Saturday afternoon.
We didn’t give ourselves a chance against Spurs. They scored after two minutes and then had a penalty, and after that the game was done.
However, Tettey insists the performance wasn’t all bad:
We came out fighting second half, wanting to play better and that’s what we have to do now. There is no time to feel sorry for ourselves. Our next game is against Aston Villa and that is like a cup final for us.
The Canaries are currently on a four game losing streak in the Premier League and haven’t won since Tettey scored himself in a 1-0 win over Southampton at the start of the calendar year.
But, Alex Tettey has denied suggestions that confidence must be low in the Norwich camp:
It’s tough losing four games in a row, of course it is. But confidence hasn’t been affected, we are fine.We know we haven’t been playing that badly and our confidence certainly isn’t at rock bottom. We just have to start giving ourselves a chance to win matches.
Norwich know they must beat rock-bottom side Aston Villa or they will slip into the bottom if Newcastle win against West Brom at St James Park.
