Jerome: Competition is always a healthy thing

Striker Cameron Jerome is open to the idea of seeing some new faces arrive at Carrow Road before the January Transfer Window shuts on Monday, February 1.

The club has already added 5 players to their ranks with Ivo Pinto, Ben Godfrey, Timm Klose and Steven Naismith all signing permanent deals, with Matt Jarvis also changing his loan to a permanent deal.

Jerome featured as part of the Football Tonight show on BT Sport Europe as a guest star, with presenter George Lamb asking the 29-year-old whether he thought Alex Neil would be adding to his squad.

I think possibly [it will happen]. Every club will be looking to strengthen, whether they’re at the top or the bottom.

New faces and competition is always a healthy thing at a football club so I think from a player’s point of view, everyone’s pretty comfortable with that.

Jerome was also asked about his team’s prospects with the Canaries currently sitting in 17th place, only two points from the relegation places.

It’s ours to play for really. We’re in control of our own destiny.

We’ve made some good signings in the window and hopefully we can add one or two before Monday’s deadline.

The team will face Tottenham Hotspur next Tuesday, where Jerome will be hoping to help the Canaries ensure their Boxing Day defeat won’t be repeated.

Jerome’s appearance on Football Tonight also saw the striker put to the test as he played on the “Ball Wall”, where he was happy to take third place for his shooting accuracy below Paul Robinson and Trevor Sinclair.

matchday.
