Norwich City midfielder Alex Tettey has been nominated for a top Norwegian award, according to The EDP.
The award that he has been nominated for is the Gullballen or ‘Golden ball’. This is Norway’s top award and is the best individual award that you can receive as a Norwegian football player.
Tettey has made the top-three for the award alongside Omar Elabdellaoui (Olympiacos) and Ada Hegerberg (Lyon, Women’s football), with the winner being announced on January 9th.

Despite being born in Ghana, Tettey has 29 caps for Norway and has scored three goals for his side. Along with his impressive performances on the International scene; Tettey has been a key part in Norwich’s team this calendar year as he has won promotion to the Premier League and impressed in a few game so far this season in the English top-flight.
His success has led to this recognition and he has a very good chance of winning the award.
Speaking about Tettey, the head of Norway’s FA said this:
Tettey plays regularly for Norwich in the Premier League and was one of our best players in the Euro 2016 qualifiers, where he also scored several fine goals.
