Wolves boss Kenny Jackett spoke on the Wolves official website about striker Benik Afobe and his future at the club.
Afobe was heavily linked with Norwich and it is public knowledge that the Canaries had a very large sum of money rejected for the former Arsenal hit-man. Norwich spent most of the summer throwing bids around here, there and everywhere but it looked like Afobe was one of Alex Neil’s top targets.
Neil was unable to bring in his target and ended up settling for signing Dieumerci Mbokani on a season-long loan from Dynamo Kiev. Mbokani still hasn’t cemented his place in the side and has just two goals so far.
Norwich have found goals very hard to come by so far this season and Afobe could be a target once again when the January window opens for business. A centre-back will be top priority but after that, a forward is also on Neil’s wish list.

Speaking about Afobe’s situation Kenny Jackett said this:
Benik is a calm man, he’s articulate and for him he understands as much anyone it’s about the team.
It’ll be interesting [in January], it was a tough period in pre-season where there was a lot of speculation about him and conversations.
But if there is speculation again it’ll mean things are going right and he’s scoring and playing well.
How the situation goes, we’ll see. December is almost the calm before the storm – we’ll handle it and deal with it if and when it happens again.
