Norwich City have moved to pen down another academy product to a new contract in the form of Reece Hall-Johnson.
The 20-year-old full back has signed a one year extension on his current deal, with the option for a further year. He joins the likes of the Murphy twins and Harry Toffolo to be tied down by Norwich in the last few months and Norwich look to invest in their talented youth side.
He made his debut as a second half substitute versus Crawley in the League Cup last year. A game which City won 3-1, with fellow Norwich graduate Josh Murphy scoring twice in the match.
Speaking to canaries.co.uk, Hall-Johnson said: “It’s brilliant for the club to show this commitment to me.
“I’ve been here since I was 11 years old, and I’m 20 now so it’s great to be staying with the club that I’ve grown up with. “I know everyone here so well and now I want to try and push into the first-team and play for Norwich City. That’s been my goal ever since I was young.”
Hall-Johnson was part of the Norwich side that won the FA Youth cup in 2013 and will be hoping that he can get a first team chance this season, or at least, get a loan move to the Football League to gain experiance.
Norwich face West Brom next week in the Capital One Cup and Hall-Johnson will be hoping that he might get a chance in the squad.
