Norwich youth product Harry Toffolo has extended his stay with the Canaries by two years.
The 20-year-old defender, who can play in the middle or on the left, now is contracted to Norwich until 2017.
Toffolo was an integral part of the Norwich under 18’s side that won the FA youth cup back in 2013. He played in central defence alongside Kyle Callan-McFadden throughout the competition and impressed heavily over the last few years.
He spent last season out on loan to Swindon Town in League One and played 30 times for the Robins on their way to a play off final at Wembley. He scored one goal and provided a number of assists down the left side for Swindon and he mainly played in the left-wing back position.
The England U20 international was a regular in the Norwich team throughout pre-season and made his senior Norwich debut versus Rotherham in the cup earlier this season.
Toffolo said in an interview with canaries.co.uk “It’s really good to have put-to-paper with Norwich, it shows that the club is backing me.
“After a strong year with Swindon last season and a pre-season with the first-team here, it proves that if you work hard you get given opportunities.
“Norwich is my club. I joined at a young age, moving away from home but this is my home now. My long-term goal is to do the best that I can at Norwich City.”
Toffolo clearly loves the club and the fans love him. Every fan would love to see him be given a chance in the Premier League this season, however, with Olsson back from injury, that looks unlikely.
His next match for Norwich is likely to be in the Capital One Cup versus West Brom in a few weeks time.
