Norwich City will aim to bounce back from their disappointing weekend home defeat to Birmingham City when already-relegated Sheffield Wednesday arrive at Carrow Road on Wednesday evening (February 25).
A disastrous opening 20 minutes against the Blues saw Philippe Clement’s men fall 2-0 down, with Carlos Vicente and Marvin Ducksch capitalising on defensive errors.
The introduction of Paris Maghoma at half-time inspired a spirited second-half fightback for the Canaries, but despite Kenny McLean’s first goal at Carrow Road in more than four years the home side were unable to rescue a point.
The result left Norwich six points clear of the relegation zone and 12 points away from the play-off spots.
Relegation was confirmed for Wednesday night’s visitors over the weekend after a 2-1 loss to bitter rivals Sheffield United.
It’s been an utterly miserable season for Henrik Pedersen’s side, who have won just once all season – that being a 2-0 win away at Portsmouth in September.
Wednesday will arrive at Carrow Road without any fit centre-backs, stretching their already threadbare squad to the limit.
The Steel City Derby saw Liam Cooper forced off with an injury, while defensive partner Gabriel Otegbayo saw red in the 90th minute.
Norwich go into the game with only Tony Springett as a recognised right-wing option, with Matej Jurasek, Papa Amadou Diallo and Oscar Schwartau still sidelined.
Forwards Mohamed Toure and Ali Ahmed were both substituted against Birmingham as head coach Clement looked to manage minutes during a three-game week.

Daniel’s betting prediction
Unsurprisingly, Norwich are overwhelming favourites for Wednesday night’s game at 2/9.
A £10 bet at those odds would return just £12.22 in the event of a home win, demonstrating the confidence of the bookies.
Norwich are yet to lose back-to-back games under Clement, meaning an away win would certainly come as a shock.
The saying ‘along come Norwich’ exists for a reason, but it’s hard to see past anything other than a home win for this one.
