At this time, no reason has been given as to why Dier went to confront the supporter after his side were knocked out of the FA Cup fifth round on penalty shootouts.
A few fans on social media claimed that the supporter racially abused Gedson Fernandes as he left the field after missing the decisive spot-kick however, speaking after the game, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho explained that Dier’s brother responded to a fan shouting abuse at the midfielder, which caused a fracas, and Dier went into the stands to help his family member.
Norwich advanced to the quarter-finals of the cup with their shootout win after the game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes and extra-time.
Tim Krul was a penalty hero once again, as he has been in the past, this time, saving spot-kicks from Troy Parrott and Gedson.
