This could be a huge blow to Norwich’s chances of picking up a result against the Foxes on Friday. Ndidi has been excellent in the Premier League this season and is currently second in Leicester’s squad for WhoScored ratings, with Ricardo Pereira the only player ahead of him.
The Nigerian international has recorded a score of 7.43 for his performances in the league, with back-up defensive midfielder Hamza Choudhury averaging just 6.43. This highlights the gap in quality between Leicester’s first and second-choice defensive midfielders.
If you compare Ndidi to Norwich’s defensive midfielder, Alex Tettey, the difference is staggering – although you could expect that given the league positions of the two clubs. Ndidi is averaging 8.8 tackles, interceptions and clearances combined in the Premier League, whilst Tettey is averaging just 4 tackles, interceptions and clearances combined per game.
This highlights why Ndidi being fit could be a massive boost for Leicester and also be a blow to Norwich’s chances, as it shows how important he is to the defensive side of their game.
