Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has allayed any fears over complacency ahead of his side’s clash with Norwich this weekend.
Alexander-Arnold says that the players know nothing is won yet and that they are focused on seeing the job through, with a trip to Carrow Road next up for the Reds.
Norwich are currently sat bottom of the Premier League table on 18 points, whilst Liverpool are top having won 24 of their 25 matches.
Speaking to Liverpool’s programme, via The EDP, Alexander-Arnold said:
That’s how we need to think and that’s the way we need to be. That’s the message the manager drills into us on a daily basis: that nothing’s over yet, there’s still a long way to go.
We’re just over halfway through the season, so it’s important for us to keep our heads, keep focused and keep our mentality the same. That’s what’s been working for us, so nothing should change.

It is one of the signs of a great team that they are focused and driven to achieve their goal, despite already holding a 22-point lead on the rest of the Premier League. Alexander-Arnold is clearly determined to avoid complacency and make sure that Liverpool avoid any slip-ups between now and the end of the campaign.
Liverpool have been consistent throughout the season, dropping points in just one match, which is the proof in the pudding that they are maintaining their levels and not allowing themselves to give anyone an inch in the title race.
This does not bode well for Norwich, who host Liverpool this week. The Canaries are seven points adrift at the bottom of the table and now face the best side in the league on an incredible run of form; what could go wrong?
Daniel Farke could look to set his side up defensively, after failing to do that in the 4-1 drubbing at Anfield on the opening day of the season. Or, he could just try to attack Liverpool and hope that lady luck is on his side and that the Canaries are able to come away with an incredible result.
