Norwich fell further from safety after a draw against injury hit Crystal Palace.
The Canaries were won of six teams kicking off at 5:30 and with that saw their rivals results before kicking off. Aston Villa, Southampton and Watford all won to make City clash under the floodlights a must win game.
The home side came out the better team and played some beautiful football in the opening periods of the game. The Canaries got their goal after just three minutes through young playmaker Cantwell. Buendia put the ball in the box and after a few moments where nobody could get control of the ball, it dropped to Cantwell who couldn’t miss.
Norwich continued to dominate for a while after but then dropped back inviting pressure onto them. They held out well for the majority of the game but eventually cracked with a few minutes to play. Zaha crossed the ball into Wickam who pocked it into the net from close range. The linesman flagged it offside but after consulting VAR it was clear that the former Ipswich striker was well onside and the goal was given.
