Norwich Player Ratings: Tottenham Hotspur (H)

VAR denied Norwich all three points as Spurs go home with a point in a tense and firey affair.

The Canaries have dominated the first halves of games recently and yesterday was no different. Norwich took an early lead after missed a chance from Steipermann through fellow creative midfielder Vrancic. Foyth was left wanting too much time on the ball and was robbed before the Bosnian dribbled unchallenged until he was just outside the box. Then he netted before doing his trademark celebration in front of the River end who, like the rest of the stadium, were in raptures.

Vrancic was involved again, this time he put a delightful ball cross field to Pukki who chested the ball down into his path with an exquisite touch. The Fin then neatly poked the ball past young keeper Gazzaniga. The Carrow Road faithful went crazy – they were 2-0 up against a Jose Mourinho team afterall. The joy didn’t last long though as after what seemed like an age for Norwich fans and players alike, the goal was chalked off for a dubious offside.

After that, the game got heated with both sets of players not afraid to wipe out the opposition resulting in fiery game on the pitch and in the stands.

Shortly after the break, Tottenham equalised through Eriksen. Lewis through himself at the ball and in the process, let the ball strike his hand. It was perfect range for the Danish international and it was the perfect free kick.

The Canaries retook the lead a short while after thanks to a calamitous own goal. Alderweild touched the ball out of Pukki’s path but straight into Aurier who accidentally passed the ball past his own helpless keeper.

Spurs equalised again thanks to a Kane penalty and despite late pressure from the visitors, that’s how it ended.
