Norwich City produced one of the shocks of the Premier League in recent time as they defeated reigning champions Manchester City 3-2 under the lights at Carrow Road.
The odds were certainly against the Canaries before the game, with Timm Klose, Christoph Zimmerman, Max Aarons, Tom Trybull, Mario Vrancic and Moritz Leitner all out injured and doubts over goalkeeper Tim Krul and Ben Godfrey. However, the fringe players stepped up and more-than impressed against a strong City side.
However that was not the case, and Kenny McLean put the Canaries in front with a bullet header before youngster Todd Cantwell doubled the hosts’ lead, a tap in from close range.
City got one back just before the interval through Sergio Aguero. However Norwich came out on top, Teemu Pukki getting Norwich’s third following sloppy passing from the Citizens. A late Rodri goal meant the game had a very nerve-wracking end, but Norwich held on to defy all odds and take all three points, propelling them up to 12th in the league.
