Norwich have reportedly made a club-record bid of €16.5m for Lorient forward Alexis Claude-Maurice.
According to French outlet Le Telegramme, Norwich have had an offer of €16.5m accepted by Lorient as they look to bring the player over to England.
The report claims that West Ham made an offer of €15m earlier in the window, with Claude-Maurice now having to decide if he wants to join Norwich.
Norwich’s current transfer record stands at £8.5m, as per TransferLeague, which was paid in January 2016 to sign Timm Klose from Wolfsburg.

There have been conflicting reports regarding Norwich’s pursuit of Claude-Maurice, with Le Telegramme and SoccerLink claiming an offer has been accepted, whilst local journalist Michael Bailey has said that the club will not be signing him.

Assuming Norwich can somehow snap the French forward up before Thursday’s deadline, would he be the man to keep the club in the Premier League?
Norwich face a tough task of avoiding relegation back to the Championship next term and will need goals from all over the pitch to ensure their place in the top-flight.
The likes of Emi Buendia, Mario Vrancic and Marco Stiepermann all need to continue to chip in with goals, but would Claude-Maurice enhance their chances?
Yes. The young forward scored 14 goals for Lorient in Ligue 2 last season, proving that he is a talented finisher. If given the chances in the Premier League, he could score the goals that help Daniel Farke’s side retain their place in the league.
