“Like Maddison” Some Norwich fans react to Claude-Maurice reports

Norwich City have reportedly had a bid accepted for Lorient forward Alexis Claude-Maurice this week.

According to SoccerLink, Norwich have made a “significant” offer, which the Lorient president is satisfied with, leaving Claude-Maurice to discuss terms with Daniel Farke in the coming hours.

Following the news, some Norwich fans have taken to Twitter to voice their opinions on the potential signing.

Peter has compared Claude-Maurice’s mooted arrival to the signing of James Maddison.

Paul is concerned that Norwich are unable to afford the winger.

Nick fears that some of Europe’s best clubs will snap him up before Norwich can seal a deal.

Andy believes he would be an incredible coup.

It remains to be seen as to whether or not Norwich can convince Claude-Maurice to join the club before Thursday’s 5pm deadline, with reports of Arsenal and West Ham being interested in him earlier this summer.

The 21-year-old found the back of the net 14 times for Lorient in Ligue 2 last season and is a composed finisher in front of goal.

Claude-Maurice predominantly plays off the left, where Onel Hernandez played for Norwich last season, but can also operate through the middle as a centre-forward or an attacking midfielder.

If Norwich can get a deal over the line for Claude-Maurice, he could be the final piece of the puzzle as the club look to avoid relegation to the Championship next season.
