Norwich and Aston Villa have both been heavily linked with a move for Stade Reims goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
And according to the Goal’s French outlet, cited by The Boot Room, fellow French outfit Rennes have had an offer rejected for the 27-year-old.
The report goes on to add that Stade Reims have placed a £7.1m price tag on the impressive keeper, handing both Norwich and Villa a major boost in their pursuit of a new number one.

Daniel Farke is looking to bring in a new shot-stopper to challenge Tim Krul, while Villa boss Dean Smith is thought to be keen on bringing in another addition to challenge Jed Steer as first choice next season.
Mendy has been a regular for his current side over the past three seasons, impressing with some eye-catching displays.
Conceding just 86 goals in 85 games, Mendy, who has 35 clean sheets for Reims, could well prove to be an excellent addition by either Norwich or Villa.
