Norwich City and Sheffield United are both prepared to battle it out for the signing of Middlesbrough’s Britt Asombalonga, according to the Daily Mirror.
The soon-to-be Premier League duo are both keen to bring the forward with them to the top flight next season.
Assombalonga has proved to be one of the most prolific strikers outside of the Premier League in recent years.
The former Peterborough and Nottingham Forest forward has scored 16 goals in all competitions this season.
Since breaking into the Peterborough team six years ago, he has scored 81 in 193 league appearances in the Championship and League 1.

Middlesbrough signed Assombalonga for around £15 million in 2017 from Notts Forest.
With Boro’s parachute payments coming to an end this summer and with the striker only having two years left on his contract, they may let their star man go this summer to maximise the potential fee they can get for him.
Boro will likely need to rebuild this summer with Tony Pulis leaving, and cashing in on Assombalonga would be the best way of funding doing this.
The DR Congo international has been one of the most consistent strikers in the Championship in recent years, but he is yet to make the step up to the Premier League.
The 26-year-old would be a really good signing for either Norwich or Sheff United this summer as they look to bolster their attacking armoury.
Teemu Pukki has been Norwich’s talisman this season, but the signing of Asombalonga would add a lot of competition for the Canaries’ starting slot up front.
