Norwich have announced the signing of Akin Famewo from Luton Town.
The Canaries’ interest in the central defender was reported yesterday, and the club moved quickly to finalise the deal for the 20-year-old.
Having spent all season on loan at Grimsby Town of League Two, the youngster saw the bulk of his playing time before the turn of the new year, and may need some time to get back up to speed before featuring for Norwich’s Under-23 side.

Speaking to the official club website, Famewo said:
I’m just so happy to be here,
I’ve been wanting to come here for a long time. Norwich is where my Mum’s side of the family are from.
It’s a big thing for me to be here because since I was young, I was always interested in Norwich and my family are big fans of the Club. It’s a privilege to be here.
It was this time last year when I first heard about the Club’s interest in me. There was a little murmuring about it [a move] but nothing came of it.
It doesn’t matter though because I’m here now and I’m ready to crack on and break into that first-team.
Famewo progressed through Norwich’s youth ranks along with current East Anglian stars Max Aarons and Jamal Lewis, so he won’t be arriving to the club as a total stranger.
