Norwich City are set to sign Luton Town defender Akin Famewo, according to a report from HITC Sport’s Pete O’Rourke.
The 20-year-old is currently on loan at Grimsby Town but he is set to be recalled as the Canaries have had a bid accepted for his services.
Norwich have been tracking the young defender for some time and it looks like they’ve finally decided to act upon their interest in him following some impressive displays for Grimsby in League Two.
Famewo is unlikely to be considered a viable option in Daniel Farke’s first-team immediately and is being signed up as a player for the future, however, it remains to be seen if he joins up with the club’s academy or if he goes out on loan to gain more experience.
Norwich have a policy of recruiting the best young players in the country and the signing of Famewo is another example of that.
