Norwich have bid for Gavin Bazunu rejected by Shamrock Rovers

Norwich City have had a bid for teenage goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu rejected by Shamrock Rovers, and it looks like the Canaries will lose out to Tottenham in the race for his signature, as per the Irish Independent.

Norwich made an offer for the 16-year-old, who has recently been on trial with Liverpool, but their bid has been dwarfed by Tottenham, who’ve offered €200,000 to Rovers.

Shamrock manager Stephen Bradley confirmed in a recent interview that Bazunu would stay in Ireland until June 2019 so he can complete his final school exams, and Tottenham are seemingly happy to let him do just that, but they want to secure a deal now.

Spurs will allow Bazunu to finish his studies then move to the club’s academy in the summer of 2019.

Whether Norwich will come back in with a bid remains to be seen, but with the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham looking at the teenager, it seems unlikely that he’d want to make a move to Carrow Road.
