Norwich defender Marcel Franke has joined German second division side Darmstadt on a loan deal with a view to a permanent deal.
The German defender joined City last season, making eight appearances before being loaned out to Dynamo Dresden, who play in the same division as Darmstadt.

He made 16 appearances for Dresden last season, after a disappointing first few games for Norwich that saw the defender dropped from the first team squad.
Franke will, therefore, move back to Germany again, possibly for good after failing to adapt to the English game.
The German said after joining the 2. Bundesliga side (via Eastern Daily Press)
The good conversations with the trainer and the team concept that I was able to identify with immediately convinced me that Darmstadt is the right step for me.
I am happy to be with the Lilies now and I am pleased with the coming challenge
