The race for James Maddison is heating up this summer, as various Premier League clubs are vying for the player’s signature.
Norwich had been hoping for a large sum for Maddison, as the club look to secure their financial future. Southampton had thought to be in the lead for the former Coventry midfielder, however, reports out today suggest otherwise.

It’s claimed that Leicester have, in fact, made the first bid in the race to recruit Maddison from Norwich, with an offer worth around £20m made according to John Percy of the Telegraph.

Southampton and Everton want to sign the England Under-21 international but it seems they may need to go one better than Leicester, who have expressed a strong interest in signing the player.
Maddison was in great form for Norwich last term as he netted on 15 occasions in the Championship.
Saints remain keen to sign the promising attacking midfielder this summer but if they are to do so, they will need to see off Leicester and Everton in their respective efforts to acquire Maddison.
