Leicester City are leading the race to sign Norwich City midfielder James Maddison this summer, according to a report from Simon Jones of the Mail.
The 21-year-old, who has been linked with moves to both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks, has apparently been on Leicester’s radar for some time and they’ve been scouting him frequently.
Norwich are reportedly telling interested parties that they’ll be looking for a fee upwards of £25m before they consider selling the England U21 international, and that price has apparently put off both Liverpool and Spurs.
However, the Foxes have been watching Maddison since his time at Coventry City and they might be willing to splash the cash to get him, especially if they allow Wilfred Ndidi to move for big money in the summer.
Norwich won’t want to lose Maddison as he could be a key component of a squad that will be hoping to get promoted next season, but if bids around the £25m mark do come in, they may find it hard to keep their star man.
