German Bundesliga II side Dynamo Dresden secured a six-month loan deal for Norwich defender Marcel Franke but had hoped to sign him on a permanent basis, according to a report on Pinkun.
The 24-year-old centre-back has found it difficult to settle in at Norwich in the Championship and has been sent out on loan to his former club gain some valuable game time before next season.

The Canaries were not willing to sell Franke permanently even though that is was Dresden wanted and this shows that the English club have faith that Franke still has a future at the club.
The defender was dropped from the Norwich side in August after the 4-0 defeat against Millwall and has struggled to fight his way back into the starting line-up ever since.
The German has passed his medical with Dresden and will begin training with the side after the winter break.
Norwich manager Daniel Farke believes the move is good for Franke.
Marcel struggled a bit to adapt to the Championship at the start of the season, and that’s why we changed things after the Millwall result.
He has improved very much in recent weeks in training, but we’ve played a lot with Timm Klose, Grant Hanley and Christoph Zimmermann in the centre-back positions and they are all in good form and we’ve been pretty solid, including a club record of consecutive clean sheets.
We think it would be good for Marcel to be playing games for his confidence, and to get back into his rhythm at a high level and to come back in good shape in June.
Norwich are currently 16th in the Championship table.
