Norwich have completed their latest signing of the summer but it’s expected that this one has been made with an eye on the future.

It’s reported that the Canaries have signed Ungmennafélagid Afturelding midfielder Ísak Snær Þorvaldsson on a three-year contract following a successful trial with the club.

The 16-year-old spent time on trial with fellow Championship side Reading but it’s Norwich who have secured his services for the next three years.

Þorvaldsson actually trialled with Norwich back in 2015 but the club did not sign the player at the time, but have taken another look at him now and pulled the trigger on a move.

Capped at U17 level by Iceland, Þorvaldsson is a very talented midfielder who will now enter the Norwich academy where he will continue his footballing development ahead of a future push into the first-team if he comes on well.

Norwich have a number of talented young players in their ranks at the moment but it’s always a positive move to add to your options.
