Nelson Oliveira has been the talk of the town this weekend after he was linked with a move to Championship side Reading.
Norwich sold star midfielder Jonny Howson to rivals Middlesbrough earlier this week and looked set to sell their starting striker to Reading – another of Norwich’s rivals.
It was said that Reading had an offer accepted for the forward, although that is believed to be wide of the mark.
HITC reported on Friday that Jaap Stam sees Oliveira as the man to fire his side to the Premier League and is keen to add him to his strikeforce.
However, those claims have since been rubbished and it is thought that Norwich are looking to keep the centre-forward this summer.
Oliveira netted 15 goals in all competitions for Norwich last season, making him the club’s joint-top scorer alongside Cameron Jerome, although Oliveira only started 20 games.
The Portuguese international signed for Norwich from Benfica last summer for a fee in the region of £5m.
