Michael McGovern was one of Norwich’s main signings in the summer transfer window last season. He joined the club to keep ex-England international John Ruddy on his toes by providing serious competition for the goalkeeper’s jersey, in the hope that it would improve Norwich’s faltering defence from the previous season that led to their relegation from the Premier League.
