Norwich completed the signing of Angus Gunn from Manchester City earlier this week.
Gunn returns to the club where he started his youth career, having left Norwich to sign for Manchester City’s academy in 2011.
The 21-year-old is yet to feature in a senior competitive match in his career, but has been capped six times by England’s under-21 side and will be jetting off to the under-21 European Championships with his country this summer – alongside new teammate Jacob Murphy.
Gunn is the son of former Norwich goalkeeper Bryan Gunn – who made over 400 appearances in between the sticks for Norwich – making it a sentimental return in many ways for the youngster.
The Manchester City goalkeeper was born – and grew up – in Norwich, so he is a signing who already understands and cares for the club. A good sign of things to come.
