Preston 1-3 Norwich: Rating the Canaries

Norwich City secured an impressive away victory as they beat Preston 3-1 at Deepdale.

The Canaries came into the game having not won an away match for six weeks in the Championship, ending that draught with a good display.

Norwich had some shaky moments in the match, as they always seem to, but were able to ride their luck as Preston missed a number of gilt-edged chances in the second half.

Graham Dorrans handed Norwich the lead in the 28th minute. Steven Naismith teed the ball to the edge of the area and Dorrans belted a strike into the bottom corner, his sixth of the campaign.

Josh Murphy then doubled the lead in the 40th minute when he placed the ball into the corner from just inside the area, his fourth of the season.

Tommy Spurr pulled one back for Preston in the 67th minute when he scored a free-header from a free-kick, but substitute James Maddison sealed the win for Norwich in the 92nd minute as he slotted home nicely – a goal on his league debut.

Here is how we rated the Canaries…
