Nottingham Forest will battle Norwich City for the signature of Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack,BBC Radio Nottingham reports.
McCormack joined the Villains for £12m in the summer after Norwich failed to stump up the cash required to bring him in permanently. However, after falling out with boss Steve Bruce, Villa are looking to shift the Scotsman on loan.
Norwich have looked like the prime suitors for McCormack, but they will now have to defeat Nottingham Forest if they wish to get their man.

McCormack has been less than impressive since his multi-million pound move in the summer. He has made 22 appearances for Villa, and scored a measly three goals.
Another striker with Championship experience could be very helpful to Norwich, and would add more competition for the lone striker role that Alex Neil likes to play.
Norwich currently sit 8th in the Championship, and have won their last two matches. They will look to continue that form when they face Cardiff City on Saturday.
