Norwich City are set to lose out on their much sort after transfer target Ross McCormack to promotion rivals Aston Villa, according to Sky Sports.
They report that the Villans have come in late with a strong bid of £12m for the Fulham striker, as new manager Roberto Di Matteo looks to build his squad going into the opening weekend of the season.
Norwich have been linked with McCormack for as long as most can now remember, with new twists and turns coming on almost a daily basis as the transfer market heats up just days before the new season. The Canaries have already made two bids in the upper regions of £10m, with both being rejected by the London club for being too far below their valuation.

The striker moved to the capital from Leeds for a fee of £11m, going from an extortionate to standard figure within just a few seasons. It’s believed he wants his future sorted before the club’s first game of the new campaign, as they host relegated Newcastle on Friday night.
Most Norwich fans seemed resigned to losing out on McCormack, as reports are beginning to emerge that the Norfolk club are now turning their attention to fellow goal machine Britt Assombalonga.
