Norwich forward Steven Naismith, speaking to the club’s website, that the squad is ready to go in to the new season, following their final pre-season game at home to Hannover 96.
Despite the Canaries being beaten in their final outing before the season gets underway at Blackburn in just seven days time, Naismith doesn’t believe it’s a sign of things to come. Naismith said:
“We had a slow start, and they pressed us very high from the off. They got the rewards from it but as we grew into the game we sussed out the way they were playing. We showed with a bit of patience we could break them down.”
“In the second half you could see that especially. We created chances against a good team, so it was a good test for us.”

City have managed to navigate all of their friendly games without picking up any serious injury problems, something which has been an annoying issue for the Canaries in recent years. But they go off to Ewood Park in a weeks time with a fully fit squad, in their first competitive game since being relegated from the Premier League.
“The squad’s ready and the boys have been working hard throughout pre-season,” the 29-year-old added. “It was good to get back out into the familiar surroundings of Carrow Road. We’re now looking forward to getting into the league fixtures. Everybody is happy to have the competitive stuff starting now. Hopefully we can start off with a few good results.”
Having not made a major impact in any of the pre-season games, Alex Neil has a big decision to make over the next seven days deciding whether his fellow countryman should be in the starting eleven for the opening weekend.
